Her Majesty's Theatre

Art Gallery Ballarat
Displaying a large collection of artworks from early Australian art to cutting-edge contemporary pieces, the Art Gallery is great for a day out. With frequently changing exhibitions and many young local artists being featured, there is something to suit all tastes. Located on Lydiard Street, Ballarat, phone 03 5320 5858 for opening times. 

Eerie Tours of Ballarat
For something a little different, join one of the nightly Wednesday through to Sunday walking tours, and find out what haunted secrets lay beneath the streets of Ballarat. Not suitable for kids under 5 but a great adventure for those who are game. Click here for more info.

Sovereign Hill
Visit Ballarat in the Goldfields era of 1850 at Sovereign Hill where they bring history to life. In this completely recreated township there are heaps of interactive activities for kids and adults alike. Gold Rush Golf
You wouldn’t have missed the ‘Big Miner’ 8m statue as you entered Ballarat. This is a great place to bring the family for a fun day out with an 18-hole outdoor golf course, an 18-hole mini golf course, a game room, park and BBQ facilities. Western Hwy, Warrenheip, Ballarat. Phone 03 5334 8150.

The Tangled Maze
Only 15 minutes from Ballarat, The Tangled Maze is a botanical wonderland for kids and grown-up kids alike. Constructed from hundreds of flowering plants on trellises, adventurers are led on a winding mystery through this beautifully landscaped setting. The Golfers Lounge
The Golfers Lounge is Ballarat's sports entertainment hotspot. It features 5 world class golf simulators, 4 electronic dart machines, mini golf simulator, pool table, fully stocked bar and a lounge area with large TV's and projector screens. Click here for more info.

Historical Sites

Ballarat Tramway Museum 
Take a trip through the Botanical Gardens on the Ballarat Vintage Tramway. The depot is also a museum full of photographs and memorabilia capturing an integral part of Ballarat’s rich history. Run purely by volunteers, the Ballarat Tramway Museum is a great day out for the family. Click here for further info. 

Visit this unique homestead, gardens and nature reserve on a working farm. The homestead is filled with photographs, furniture and curios dating back to the 1930s. With many organised picnics and public open days, if you love a bit of history and gorgeous gardens, Mooramong is a lovely way to spend a day. Click here for more info.  

Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka
